@CoMaps@floss.social On the other hand, there are a couple of downsides. 😥 A. While it doesn't track *me*, it also doesn't track anyone else. So it only ever offers one route and has no traffic-related adjustments. That's part of the deal, though - you either get tracked, or you get traffic related suggestions, but you can't have both. B. It sometimes has trouble finding house numbers, and can get me to the right street, but l then have to find the house on my own. #DigitalSovereignty #DeGoogle

@ElwoodCity@thecanadian.social @CoMaps@floss.social Rather like the paper maps I used to find my way while travelling for wok, around our country and down south to that place where I will never return. Keep practicing, soon you'll find it's easier. 👍

@ElwoodCity@thecanadian.social @CoMaps@floss.social Thanks for the heads-up on #CoMaps Looks nice and I am going to try it, Although in the back of my driver's seat, there is a pocket and sticking out of that is an atlas ! Thank you.

@ElwoodCity@thecanadian.social those are some lovely photos! For the missing house numbers: Sometimes that's because our search isn't perfect yet, other times because the numbers are missing in OpenStreetMap! If it's the latter, you can make things better for everyone by adding them after you find them and have arrived 🙂
