I am exhausted from being a suspect, exhausted from people who despite what they profess, behave as if performance and outward conformity is a prerequisite for honest affinity and unity. I meet so many cis and even some trans women whose feminism has morphed into a funhouse mirror of patriarchy with its sex and gender essentialism that I almost want to stop calling myself a feminist. Its as if sarcasm and cynical suspicion of others are the only benchmarks for intelligence, and there no longer exists any personal or cultural sense of moral responsibility to first and foremost test one's own biases and assumptions; a dubious luxury I have never enjoyed in my life. #BlackFedi #Feminist #BlackFeminist #Womanist #Trans

#Etymology The word "sarcasm" comes from the Ancient Greek σαρκασμός (sarkasmós) which is taken from σαρκάζειν (sarkázein) meaning "to tear flesh, bite the lip in rage, sneer".
