Today I learned how easy it is to have an accident riding an electric scooter. After 6 /12 years of working remotely, my employer decided to end the program and bring us all back to the office. I bought the scooter as an option for commuting on days with decent weather. This morning, while dodging an absent-minded pedestrian, I went off into the grass. The very wet-with-morning-dew grass. So now I have a sprained ankle on one leg and an impressively purple big toe on the other foot. Elbow and knee pads, plus a helmet protected everything else. (Yes, I know the scooter is a vehicle and should be operated on the street. Semi-busy 4-lane residential with 35 mph traffic pre-dawn. Nope.)
