@joelle@social.joelle.us Atari XE tapes for both games I bought and programs I stored, LTO tapes for backups. Only ever handled reel-to-reel for audio (my dad had one).

@joelle@social.joelle.us The state-run media was doing a hit job on our state-run population census, so I had to be filmed mounting a traditional tape onto the reader of a IBM-style mainframe. Or as the reportage put it, "a tape containing the lives of all Australians". (Edit, the tape actually contained a dictionary mapping typos to car models. Volkswagon Combi -> Volkswagen Kombi, etc)

@joelle@social.joelle.us Not since primary school, a mate had a Spectrum. I don't currently have an LTO drive, but I want one.

@joelle@social.joelle.us Had a C64 with a Datasette drive growing up, and my first x86 PC had a QIC drive!
