I discovered I was terribly afraid of heights two years ago in this exact spot. We endured near record-breaking 90 degree temps down in the foothills only to reach the summit where we had to bundle up in coats to bear the autumnal air.
It was an unseasonably warm fall as well when I met my boyfriend at a local furry art market in 2023. I was doodling something on a banner that the group that hosted the event had put out for people to sign or draw on while he sat quietly on a couch to my left. We started chatting and I complimented his paws and tail. (He was wearing his other partial, his purple dutchie sona). I commented on the constellation pattern on his paw pads and told him I loved the color purple.
I didn't know it yet, but in that moment we had both caught ahold of each other's threads and what began to be woven over these preceding years has been a wonderful tapestry, although not perfect. Rows have unraveled and been stitched back time and again.

I think ours was a fairly typical story. We began running into each other more and more often at events around town. We grew closer as friends. Then we began appearing together at events all around town. We added benefits to the growing friendship. I took him to his first ever pride festivals in 2024 and we began traveling the country. We have journeyed together from the moonscape deserts of Utah, to the lush rolling hills of the Alleghenies near to where I grew up. We have visited certain cities and airports so often, that we now find ourselves navigating these places with ease.
