it never rly occurred to me before, but now wondering if this is, in some way, a mitigating gesture (or charm) against mass shooters… in a country full of guns and traumatized / deranged military veterans

in its early manifestations, it was called “going postal” bc that’s where it was happening

@b@convo.casa I’ve seen many post offices with that flag, so I always assumed either it was a recommendation from the top, or a lot of local postmasters were vets.
