I am in my home city and someone is trying to guess where I am “from”. they have so far guessed australia (???), canada (flannel shirt throwing them off?), and “visiting from the netherlands” (okay that one is common around here with the ferry and rail links) clearly not very good at this. either that or something has gone horrendously wrong in my local dialect lately
