Not quite some #VisibleMending, but definitely #mending: my olive linen pants definitely would not have survived more than another wear, so I added some thin, soft denim-like material and fixes it with Sashiko-like (I know, not real Sashiko) stitches. One side was made fully by eye, the other with some guiding lines. Neither is perfect and if I want visible mending, I'm going to have to find a better way in the future, but this one works and holds. Was the #repair worth it? 1/2

Now that's an interesting one. It was fun, it was satisfying and I like that the pants mat survive another season (though as pants for days of remote working and grocery runs, not for work and travel). But it took quiet some time, worth a lot more than the cost per wear of even a new pair of pants would be for what little extension of lifetime it brought for the pants. So yeah, fun project, will do again, but mainly because I enjoyed it. 2/2

@vicgrinberg@mastodon.social It looks great, definitely worth it. It may have taken time, but so does finding a new pair where you feel comfortable. So, if you liked them and feel comfortable with them, it's 100% worth it ;)

@vicgrinberg@mastodon.social I'm only a bit familiar with sashiko, could you explain what about this is not real sashiko? As I understood it, sashiko just consists of geometric patterns done with a running stitch but it looks like there is some nuance I'm not aware of too
