@murdoc@autistics.life The likelihood is that your FS has had all of its space allocated (to either data or metadata), and that there's lots of data allocation free, but not enough of the metadata allocation.
tl;dr: btrfs balance start -dlimit=3 /mountpoint

@darkling@mstdn.social Thanks for the suggestion and that very good explanation thread as well. It worked! I had to delete several snapshots and some more files for good measure, but it eventually worked. Everything is working now. Thank you so much! 🤗 Edit: Spoke a bit too soon. That steam game still says that there is not enough space to finish the update, but there should be. Then it occurred to me that the btrfs command result said that it moved 3 out of 816 chunks, so maybe more is needed? I tried it a few more times, but the number of chunks didn't go down until I did it enough times. Should I keep trying?
