Do I need to know anything about running VR on Linux? I hear folks saying it's quirky all the time but never understood why. amdgpu with mesa on Wayland is perfectly fine for normal gaming, and assuming it just shows up as two controllers and an extra display I assumed it'd all be pretty much normal in Sway?

@rhys@mastodon.rhys.wtf @doqunbop@mastodon.gamedev.place SteamVR is actually quirky, and they break a lot with updates (they also fix). Overall it has been considered abandonware on Linux for years and it allowed projects like Monado or WiVRn to emerge. On my old Quest 2 I used WiVRn and it has been super fun and stable. I am actually concerned about how Steam Frame will work with PC SteamVR 😅 If it works as bad as Steam Link with my Quest 2 then oops we might have a problem 👀
