@Patrickoldhiker@ohai.social @billyjoebowers@mastodon.online I think there’s a selection bias to who we hear about (the worst are usually the wealthiest - and most celebrated, because they own the media itself) - there’s nothing about this administration that actually favors small businesses, for instance, and self-employed people are just people after all who span he spectrum of moral thought - but the practice remains the same. Don’t buy what isn’t needful (deferring sales taxes, as well); identify the least immoral actors when there’s no choice whether to consume; smaller and more local businesses should have priority for necessary purchases.
