Nixpkgs today sucks for this model though Everything is distro optimised. Large kernel builds containing everything. Every library built to support every usecase. Nixpkgs will die too

@arianvp@functional.cafe, haven't used Debian for quite sometime but isn't patching packages as trivial as apt-get source, apply the patches, then dpkg-buildpackage?
