Anyway that was weird.
Then comes the "only clear liquids" part, starting 36 hours out.
I don't mean to throw shade I remember my dad doing this phase as a kid and by the end of the day he was cranky and irritable and snapping at us. Like not bad but he'd been trying to wave it away all day and it felt like he wasn't admitting how much it was affecting him.
I decided I was going to do everything I could not to do that. Dad didn't have a rando social media network to post on about it, tho....

They tell you to eat broth. I'm going to tell you to eat broth. I thought, "ugh, that sounds like a pain and kinda gross, I'll just fast through it. . . " and didn't buy any in advance. But you're also on medication by that point to loosen you up so you're already feeling weird. I found some broth I'd saved from some pot roast two years ago deep in the freezer. Friends I have never been so glad to eat broth.
