On the November ballot in Georgia, the first proposed constitutional amendment is to increase the maximum qualifying acreage of farm- or timberland for the "conservation use" property tax break from 2,000 acres to 4,000 acres. The average size for a Georgia farm is 253 acres, and the median size is 70 acres. If this passes, the benefit will go to owners of very large farms and timber tracts, at the cost of reduced property tax revenue to support schools and local government services.
