Yes, I'm afraid it's true.
Dave Farber passed away suddenly on Saturday.
We are working to handle all of the arrangements here. The "tsuya" (wake -- more formal than an Irish wake, but less formal than a funeral) will be Thursday evening 1800-2030, then the funeral will be 1100 on Friday, both at Himonya Kaikan in Meguro, if you are in/around Tokyo. And if not, there is time to jump on a plane and get here.

We also expect to stream the ceremony; details coming later. Our CCRC and the EFF already have announcements out; we expect many more announcements in the coming days.

@rdviii@famichiki.jp I was so sad to hear this news. The reason I know your name and follow you here (and took one of your online courses) is because of some of your posts on his IP list. I never met him but I expect many more connections were made all over the world because of him. A great loss.
