The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the Columbia Basin and Palouse to a slight risk (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms tomorrow.
Storms will develop during the afternoon hours. Primary threat is isolated damaging wind gusts but severe hail is possible too. The storms will be moving SE-NW, which is uncommon for this region and moderately increases damage risk.

@ingalls@mstdn.ca Bring it on! I know from many summers of watching rain in this area that we don't actually get rain unless the weather is moving in from the south. Stuff coming from the west never quite gets over the mountains. Southeast to Northwest is unusual. If the clouds aren't exhausted before they get to Wenatchee, we'll get some. I haven't seen a good thunderstorm in years — except while either trying to dodge them in a helicopter or through a helicopter cockpit window sitting on the ground.
