It's good to be as accurate as possible, so it's probably warranted to correct that conflation. But to be honest, I think the reason for the conflation is that it's a distinction without a difference to many...

The framework team said (https://community.frame.work/t/framework-supporting-far-right-racists/75986/2): "We’ve sent out large quantities of hardware to folks at Fedora, Bluefin, Bazzite, NixOS, Arch Linux, Linux Mint, Omarchy, and many other distros" That more or less counts as financial support in my book. If your contention is "they only sent large quantities of computer hardware to Omarchy, they didn't financially support them", I think you're being too petty.
