Joni Mitchell: Ladies of the Canyon (Reprise RS6376, 1970)
I somehow ended up with a Canadian pressing of this. My copy has a lot of surface noise but whatever. This is my favorite Joni era, before she got all jazzy, which I respect but it’s just not my bag (I prefer the demos). “Rainy Night House” breaks my heart. She’s the best. Croz was right.

The Mock Turtles: And Then She Smiles (Imaginary MIRAGE-015, 1989) I’m probably the only person in American who remembers this song. I put it on a million mixtapes back in the day. Probably read about in the NME. Pretty good cover of the Kinks’ “Shangri-La” on the b-side. I had the album but it didn’t survive the purge. @vinylrecords@fedigroups.social #vinyl #mockturtles
