I was puzzled because I had no idea the literal Portuguese word was used verbatim in English. 😄 We almost got that wrong because I was overthinking it. LoL https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cuspidor Pretender is also both a Portuguese and an English word, that’s why I thought of that story.
