@benroyce@mastodon.social oh dear. I had cringe flashbacks from when my landlord would only talk handywork stuff to me (a Smol Twink™) when my flatmate (Slightly taller woman) was very adamantly bearing said handywork tools in her hands and talking to him.
It was. So very weird until we understood exactly what was going on.

Several questions later she comments “You’re really good.” “Well, you know, I enjoy learning about computers…” “No, I mean you talked to me instead of my husband.” “You were the one asking me questions!” The look she gave me was 100% “oh you sweet summer child.”
