Why do you think the medium matters, when it’s a simulation of a structure found in other medium? It would indeed advance, and change, with no intervention from us. Are you not aware that the next generation of AI are being designed by the current generation?

Is a rock sentiant? Can taping wires and injecting computer code into it create intelligence? No! Lines of code doesn’t magically make something alive. Heck, ants are more intelligent and sentiant then a computer.
