If they were unnecessary, wasteful, and didn't make sense outside the corporate world, then I wouldn't be using them, and I certainly wouldn't be worrying about their future.
This is especially true of Rust and C++, which you may recall were popular with the nerds *before* they became popular with the suits.

@argv_minus_one@mastodon.sdf.org *sigh* I said "at least partially", not "Rust and C++, in their entirety". The big-tech-isms part wasn't directly related to Rust and C++ but I can see how that could have been misunderstood. Guess I should have written "the latter" category...
