I played the original Black Flag for the first time about two years before the remake came. I have been playing through all AC games in order (up to odyssey now). At no point during my play through did I feel like the game needed a remake. Sure the graphics could be better on modern hardware, but they were beautiful as they were. The gameplay gripes that I had are all inherent to the AC franchise. There was, IMO, not nearly enough that could warrant a remake. And like I said this was my first time so it’s not nostalgia or rose tinted glasses. AC1 on the other hand is lacking in a lot of areas - perhaps even too much for a remake, since it wouldn’t be “true to the original.”
