I have a question. Why should I be concerned by rust uutils? Are they not just more modern implementations of the same utilities?

Buggy software will straight up parse the output of these utils and break if like a space is in the wrong place

Yeah, less tested, likely less secure despite Rust, breakage in edge-cases.

For me the problem isn’t the rust implementation itself, but the political attempt to de-fang the GPL by rewriting an important project with a permissive, instead of copyleft, license.
