@heidilifeldman@mastodon.social I worry that these court cases and settlements are just ways for that industry to legislate in favor of itself. This doesn't SAY it requires stringent ID and age verification, but it's definitely implied. The lawyers and judges don't necessarily even know enough to see that they're just playing right into the industry's hands. They lose 17 mil now (which is nothing to them) but gain complete control and get digital ID legislated through the back door.
