Blog - #Books in February 2026
TL:DR; 7 books, 2,155 pages. 3 novels, 2 non-fiction, 2 roleplaying.
Highlight of the month was @cstross@wandering.shop’s “The Regicide Report”, which brought the Laundry Series to an end.
Antti Tuomainen’s “The Winter Job” was fun with a wry humour.
Underwhelmed by “Project Hail Mary” (Andy Weir), which felt too much like “The Martian” for me.

@cybergoths@dice.camp I've just read "The Martian," so I might give "Project Hail Mary" a miss, if it's too similar. Haven't read "The Winter Job" yet, but have read both "Little Siberia" - village priest trying to stop the locals stealing a meteorite and to find out why his wife is pregnant when he can't have children - and "The Burning Stones" - local sauna oven saleswoman trying to uncover who murdered her boss in his sauna. Scandi comic crime was not a genre I expected to be reading this year!
