Narratives about smaller languages often focus on the death side, but there's less on why this happens and how communities are fighting back In this episode we get enthusiastic with Sophia Smith Galer about her new book, How to Kill a Language https://soundcloud.com/lingthusiasm/120-how-not-to-kill-a-language

We know you're here for linguistics, but perhaps you'd also be interested in some tax advice? Or some bridal lingerie? Or some... lithium mining technology? In this bonus episode we get enthusiastic about the most deeply irrelevant pitch emails in our inbox - and make them about linguistics anyway! https://www.patreon.com/lingthusiasm/posts/bonus-116-is-our-170970754

Wow, if you’re going to deceive people at least put in some effort. Prepare photos of 2-3 places, I mean come on man only one is just dumb. And why would you not prepare a story for the pictures? Did he not anticipate that someone would ask about the photos on a first date? Hell, even if he kept just the one location, his excuse could have been that he just doesn’t have a lot of photos that aren’t selfies. This dude is fucking dumb as rocks…lucky for Baxa I guess.
